truck or car?

All of my trucks are "TRUCKS". The XL is all truck , just ask the ones that ended up looking at the side or back of "her". My 62 uni will be all truck when I finish it up , including a hitch for the goose neck trailer. And my 66 , That I got from Garbz , Will be stock height , maybe a little taller , with goose neck and tag along hitches . I just don`t like a vehicle that you have to climb up off the roadway to get out of . Just my 2 cents worth.

I found out last summer that I can fit 18 8' long 2x4's in this & still close the hatch!

She is all truck, 66 F-100 4x4 - stock frame and body. Only thing added is power steering, spray in bed liner and a real nice paint job. I still use her for hauling. I can't tow with it right now, I put on a roll pan and have not got a hitch on yet.

My 64 had it been finished would likely have fit more in Brian's car description. The 66 I have "in the works" will be modernized (steering, brakes, driveline) but will be capable of pulling a trailer (probably with a Mustang GT on it, go figure) and will be used to haul things. It will be fixed up very nice though.

Absolutley a truck! I paid $305 for it on evilbay.... It's all stock accept the wheels and hurst shifter. Yep, I think it will always be just an old Ford truck. I like it that way. I use it for anything. Pushed a F150 4x4 into the garage with the back bumper. I'll use mine!

My trucks are all trucks with one exception, this being the red 64 stepside. This was a truck, untill I started working on it roughly 12 years ago. It's been nearly finished for about 7 years, requiring about a couple months part time work to finish. Now to why it isn't finished. It's precisely the fact that it is no longer something I can use as a truck, that I have nearly lost all interest in the truck. It will never haul anything to speak of on the 100$ worth of spar varnish in the bed. The first time someone leans against the fender and scratches the paint with a belt buckle, means I may go balistic and commit murder in a blind fit of rage. The truck was never intended to go this way, but listening to freinds and various family members, influenced my decisions, along with the snowball affect. So you may understand when I say if anything it may be a car. At present, it is a very expensive garage ornament, waiting for my attention.

I can see how this would happen. Thats what I like about mine. Its "nice", but not "too nice". Even when I throw some more effort at it (and money) I am going to keep it at a certain level. Its already to the point that when I get it back on the road from these swaps I'm finishing now, it's some thing I am not going to want to drive every day. Hopefully I can if I want or need to, but its just not practical.

I'm with cdherman. some are pickups and some are trucks.

Out of four '66 Fords, I have two on the road, one in the back yard and one in boxes - no joke, boxes. Three half tons and a one ton, two shortbeds a longbed and the one ton has a stake bed 7x10 platform. All 2WD sticks, stock unless you want to count the 302 up front in the 1/2 ton, and all could use paint - like that's going to happen on my income...

Of the two currently in use, they work for a living. The half ton longbed pickup is my favorite, and goes anywhere anytime hauling anything under a ton. Pretty much a daily driver on a farm. For bigger stuff, that one ton has hauled more dirt, gravel, mulch, tractor parts and implements (anything I can hoist up that high) than I can recall. But it is light enough not to crush my steel driveway culvert - can't say that for today's 30 ton tandem dumps.

No 'cars' at Goin Broke Acres, that's for sure. Stop by sometime though and we'll play in the dirt with my 8N's<g> I'm a big fan of Henry's old stuff.

but I don't think of it that way

car suspension could argue nextcup or craftsman tuck (see gallery)

hauling stuff coolers,lawnchairs and luggage will be about max
fair weather truck?winters no, but it will drive thru what ever we incounter on the way to and from the places we drive to

no trailers for this guy. but I guess by given definition it is more car than truck.
But like it's licence plate says it is CASTRUCK

-she does not get the name "IRON RHINO" doing car duty.

-me and the rhino haul trash every week, she has 13 leaf springs on each side including helpers.i think the tires would pop before the suspension gave.

-tree stumps in my yard fear her.

Rich, that is the exact reason i dont have something like that.first time a rock from the road hit a fancy or expensive paint job or a tree branch scratched it or something similar i too would likely lose control.
that is not to say you cannot have a nice truck and use it as such but messing up hard work and expensive things is not something i would want to do.i also do not have indoor storage for something like that either.

everyone who has done certain things to their slick did it for a reason, and uses it accordingly.if i ever get to doing my 64 fairlane i will not drive it in the winter and certainly not off-road any time or fill the trunk with firewood.
i am building a towtruck because i did not want to put the wrecker unit in my 66 and hack up the bed or yank on stuck vehicles with it.i also did not put a snowplow on it either so i can abuse the suspension.it will go on the towtruck too.

Definitely truck.....a mildly hotrodded truck, but a truck none the less.
Funny thing, the old girl never runs better than when I am on my way back from a quick trip to the dump or to the lumber yard for some supplies, or to the furniture store to pick up a purchase, or to help a friend move some appliances. It's almost like the truck is happiest when working! The only job she didn't do such a hot job on was hauling a scoop of sand back to my house from the brick yard.....There's just enough little holes in my bed floor, that I think about half of my load leaked out in a 25 mile long bread crumb trail to my house!
