Frame Rail Clips

Post by montego69 »

Guys,

Is there a source for the factory style clips that hold wires, brake lines, and fuel lines to the inside of the framerails? They look pretty cool and easy to install to me. All the clips on my '62 F100 are rusty/twisted up/broken/missing to be of any use.
If you guys don't like the factory ones, is there a favorite after-market style you guys like to use?

Thanks,

Nick in WI

The OEM style clips can be purchased at Pate from several vendors.

try www.amkproducts.com and after you order something they send a catalog. All the hard to find stuff for our old Fords. Or call 540-662-7820 or FAX 800 518-2871

Its the big swap meet in Fort Worth at the end of April. Most of the Texas members attend, along with a few from Oklahoma and Louisiana.

Seeing as your from Wisconsin, I doubt you'll be attending.

Skip just must have Pate on his mind, being that our spring is getting close.

Thanks!
I thought I had read Pate somewhere on the site, just didn't know what it meant.

Do you guys typically use the factory fasteners or the aftermarket ones?

I've been using some I bought from Napa. They look something like this, except the "loop" part is insulated with rubber. I just hold them down with a bolt or sheet metal screw.

Check if you have any Industrial Nut & Bolt business around, some of them carry the spring clip type retainers. They did come in different sizes to accomodate different thickness of metal.

The insulated ones mentioned look like the last ones Tom Posted and Blueghost - they have them at your local hardware. They are about all I use - I always mount them with a stainless nut & bolt though.

This type is called an ADEL CLAMP. If you goggle 'adel clamp' you'll locate many sizes, sources & different styles......

Check out Made-for-You. High temp nylon, hold the line off the chassis, come in various colors and are sized to fit the line. I have used them in many street rods and they are the coolest looking clips around.
Many great Fords,
