I'm on a roll(pics)

Post by Total Gearhead »

its been a busy weekend. It all started when I picked up a new hood for the 61. Next I scored a FatMan cross member, spindles, and mustang brakes...... Then a fresh 460 with a C6... Mickey Thompson tires w/SS wheels 15x16 for the rear and 15x4 for the front. Tilt wheel... booster and master from a Tempo. and a Trams Am posi with 2:90 ish gears.

The front clip is off, cross member is tacked in place, 460 is mocked up, and motor mounts welded up.

Looks like I'll make Slick Stock! May be the ugliest truck there..... but it will be there! After it's all together and running I will strip it all back down and paint it.... NEXT WINTER! Imma gonna drive it all summer!

Still need 2 fenders and a core support. a set of Lake pipes. floor shifter. mini tubs. and I'll think off more as I go....

I'm fixin to hit the shop this morning to rock and roll some more! Wish me luck! will post pics soon!

well , of all the Miss America contestants , there is the ''ugliest'' one also

but even the ugliest one is darn good

If you make it (no matter how ugly you think your truck is) it is still better than all the other trucks that didn't make it to Slick Stock and that says a lot.

Ok I'm slow to upload pics but they are coming.

update:
67 Firebird 10 bolt posi with 2:43 gears
It's sitting low
460 is in place
hood scoops welded on

next:
trans mount
4 link
rack
tilt wheel
brakes

if it would warm up a bit I'd get more done!

Neat looking scoops you made! Sometimes you just have to go with something different. :D

ok so long story short it's been sitting awhile waiting on a donor frame. Thanks Larry! I'm not going into details but the last frame just wasn't as nice as I like it to be. So time to do more cutting and welding! Heading to Florida for 3 weeks on family business it will have to wait till i get back
