Wives Activities during Slick Stock?

Post by pugsly »

My wife is coming with me, but may want to adventure out into Iowa to do her 'thing'. Which is defined as Antique-ing. She is interested in knowing if any others may want to venture out with her???? Let me know.

Rose would probably go along for that.
Only problem is - if Rose is gone who is going to translate for Alan?

Several Antique malls close by and easily accessable. I am sure there will be other wives who want to go and do something besides hang around and talk trucks, even though I don't understand why they would want to do anything else. I will have maps to the malls and other things women might want to check out

Yes, the malls are a nice diversion. Fun to just walk around and people watch. Even better with movie theaters or video games for the kids. I would be interested in a small nature center or museum that you could check out for a few hours.

Last time the girls were in Iowa someone (maybe Robbin?)arranged a trip out to the Bridges of Madison County.
My wife has been raving about it ever since and can't wait to go back.Other wise I wouldn't have a bloody thing to do with you lot.

Ha! Joking
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

That was my wife, Kathy that arranged the "Bridges" trip. She just told me she would be the tour guide again at Slick Stock

I can't get mine to tell me one way or the other whether she is going or not. Doesn't that beat all? Says she doesn't want to ride up there with no A/C in the truck. I told her with both vent windows open and the door glasses down it'll be fine. She doesn't believe me. Go figure! TR

Gary, Tell her Robbin rode all the way to PA in 08 with no AC and we were fine. Had the vents down by our feet open and the back window open a little and the side windows down about a inch and it was a nice trip. Lots of air moving through the cab made it a nice trip.

Can we maybe have a kids tent or 2, where they can color or do a craft, have some kids music playing or maybe some games or boardgames for the older ones? We can bring at least 1 EZ UP and will of course have several kids' cd's. Those that bring any Nintendo DS or Gameboys, etc. can gather and watch each other play. I don't mind running a few activities during downtime or if the kids are just starting to get bored & squirrely, etc. Teach them some songs, whatever. We can look on the map and see what states/countries people came from, just hang out. Do we have a count of how many kids may be attending?
