I saw that too! Beautiful truck. I just can't understand why, with such a pristine truck, why they wouldn't have taken the extra effort and painted the engine/valve covers etc. the correct color. Of course, that wouldn't keep me from buying it if I had the coin.

Lets see, if the old man only drove it 8 miles a day, say 5 days a week would make it 40 miles a week. Take that numbeer say times 50 weeks you get 2,000 miles a year. In ten years you have 20,000 miles. something doesn't sound right, buthow do you prove it. He sold it to his son in 1984 and if he retired at that time it would have had about 40 some thousand miles. I smell a skunk somewhere. Blue motor sounds like a rebuilt Ford exchange. Nice truck but 39,000 sound wrong, especially if you think about it. I could understand the truck not being driven, and stored with that mileage. At one time I knew of some real finds but those were stored in wharehouses, alnd overlooked for years. One of those was a 39 Ford coupe that was in a warehouse in Detroit untill 1958, and the other was a 51 Ford that was supposed to be shipped to south America but for some reason something happened and it set in a wharehouse down south for a very long time. About 30 years if I remmember right.

it's not an original truck if it has been re-painted, re-upholstered, re-chromed, etc, etc. it is the same as every other restored car now. still nice though.

A 39000 mile vehicle doesn't need new seats or new paint or a wrong hood ornament. The blue engine is the real giveaway. I smell a fish.

firewall is painted black and no white inserts in the dash knobs..Im sure in california they fall out easier but still... Im sure its still a low mile truck thats really solid. If you look at the underside it still has the red primer under the cab in spots..which is correct..It still is a nice solid original truck..
The new chrome thing is a bit wierd because my 65 came from Arizona..Originally built in San Jose then was shipped to seattle then spent most of its life in AZ. My truck was really used as a work truck and not really maintained and the chrome was still perfect from being out west. If this truck was always in CA then in essence it really shouldnt need new chrome. But who knows..Its still a very nice truck and would be very easy to make 100% factory orginal.

I agree the seats should have been like new with no more miles than that. I truck has 42,000 on the clock and I have reason to believe that is original, the outside of the truck is rough from setting out but the interior is near perfect. The seats does not have a wear or torn spot on them and the carpet is in excelent condition. The red vinyl on the seats have turned darker than it originally was because of exposure to the sun, but other than that they are like new. Shouldn't the black firewall in that truck be the same as the body color? Another clue.

have you seen this ad?
3 years ago I purchaced a 1965 F250 4 x 4 with 8400 original miles,my wife 'found' it 12 years previously in a cemetary garage,i went there that night and checked it out,it had never been on the road, never registered, had a crane mounted behind the cab and a fold down landscapers type body on it [extended rear of frame 19"to support the length, yes the seat was ripped up the interior was blue, however, the exterior was white, the caretaker said it was bought that way.yeah right.tok me all of those 12 years of bugging them to sell the truck, finally i got it.puchased it as cab/chassis only, they remove the headliner sometime a month or so prior to me purchasing it,brought it home found clear.lights and west coast mirror holes were filled in.wet sanded paint to original blue/white scene had truck repainted to orininal, not touching inside replaced super wide tire wheel setup to 750 x 16 snow tires.i did find an 8' stepside bed at my local salvage yard, but is very rough, just found someone in utah that is building new longbeds!i should be ordering it this spring. there was no rust ever on truck, some very minor dings, front driveshaft is missing as they drove over and hit a headstone that will be replaced this summer but do not plan on using it off road ever.-Steve.
