Car/Truck Show during SlickStock

Post by Kid »

I joined the local Chamber of Commerce and they are making plans for a Altoona Day Celebration on the Sat of SlickStock. There will be a pancake breakfast . parade, kids play area with inflatable deals for the kids to play on, volleyball, and a few other activities. They are also wanting to put on a car show and when they found out about SlickStock and that it was the same weekend I got volunteered to help plan the car/truck show. What I need to know if any of you guys will be interested in attending the car show on Sat morning. It looks like we will be having it from 9am till noon and it will be a top 30 for trophys and will have a dash plaque for all entrants but there will probably be a $10 entrance fee. Let me know what you guys think about this.

Interested in attending, but mine is a Driver not a show-er. If they would want them to just be on display as we did before, would be OK with me.

well guys we can all go if we want and we do not have to enter I will see if we can set up a area for people to just have the vehicles on display. I think the big thing for us will be when people start to realize how far many of you guys will have driven them

I'm confused.... We don't have "shows" around here that give out trophy's. We just gather to have a good time and talk old cars.(and some new) Our entrance fee is usually $5-$10 and we get a ticket upon registering and they call numbers throughout the event and you go up to a table filled with great "little " items. A small socket set, a box of red rags, little 12v air compressors, little garage rolling seats, and such. A few bigger items and a few smaller items. That way everyone has a chance and no one gets snubbed. our shows have from 50 cars at the local Hardees to around 200 at the local BB's car club cruise ins. These are every month also. Zak and I usually go to cruise ins 3 weekends out of 4.
As long as Everyone understands what "in progress" is I have no problem entering mine. I also have no problem just "being on display".

Anyway, I am planning on being there.... with my slick.
