oil pump priming tool

Post by bigtrip460 »

ok i have been trying to prime the beast, so after many hillbilly attempts using all the redneck tech available to me and my friends, we *I* finally decided to buy a tool or at least look and see if there was one.

the guy at advance auto (proving that there IS a reason for those stores) gave me a great idea. some of you probably already know and have done this but its new to me and I need to share it.

I took the brand new single point dizzy that didnt work and gutted it then I stuffed a oil pump rod in it. all i need now is a hex or something in the top and it will be a priming tool!

Just take the shaft out of an old dizzy and use it with a drill on the top side.

I have removed the gear from a used distributor to use as a priming tool.
If you drove a Ford, you wouldn't need a good wrench!

Use and allen wrench socket and long extension. Or just build one out of cold rolled shaft if you have a drill press.
