interior questions

Post by jammck66 »

So, I am still throwing ideas around for the interior ( although I am still light years away from that yet)

I was wondering, for the guys who have done the 71 mustang gas tank swap/relocate, what did you do with the back wall of the cab?
carpet?, sheetmetal? or just paint it and leave it..
This wont be an issue if i decide to go with the factory bench, but if i install those bronco buckets, it wont look right.

thanks,
james

I'm not to this point yet either, but my plan is some carpet. Dynamat or similar material first though

I moved my tank and I have a bench but I plan to put something back there..

Many people will add a sound deadener to just the floor but it will help no matter where it is installed.. It will reduce sound by absorbing it...

I have an article published about putting the Mustang tank in a Slick.
See if someone will post a link for you.
And I recommend that you finish out the back wall of your cab with a panel for several reasons, bucket seats or not. I just makes the interior look "finished".
Here is one idea for you. A sub woofer for my stereo and a place to mount the amp.

I think a finished interior is pretty cool; here I built my own door panels out of aluminum and covered them because I wanted something different than the stock plastic.

Finished the door with matching speaker panels.

A console out of a Dodge Neon helps hold my cold beverages.

And finally put in my Rod Doors headliner after having it sit around for over a year.

Yep, I'd finish out the interior if I were you.

My N series truck didn't have a seat tank in it. I insulated the back of the cab and bought the cardboard material that door panels are made from and covered it would some gray fabrick that I had left over from the 56 F 100.

This now sits in place of my old gas tank.

I still need to make a piece to fill in between the top of the box and the bottom of the window.
