Thanks Ice.
I hope he rests peacefully and is having fun at the big drag strip in the sky.
That is the way I'd like to be remembered.

Skip, during a summer storm the thunder is when those guys rev the engine and dump the clutch. Lightning is fire from open headers. They are having more fun than ever. :D

Actually I meet Bob and his wife a couple years ago up in Oklahoma at the first FE Races that were put on at local drag strip. Really nice guy!! At the time he was making 12.30 pass consistenly with his full body truck. He lived in North east Texas and keep in contact by email. He helped me alot with my engine build. The last engine he built for his truck was a .060 390 which he made several passes in the high 11's before he passed away!!! The interesting thing about knowing him was he passed away on my son's third birthday. But was a great person, I was glad to get to know!! Rest in peace

Bob was my first Texas friend when I moved down here in 2003. We met at the FE forum, then in person. Even though we grew up in different areas of the country we talked about what and how we raced in the mid 60's, and it was if we had been friends all these years. My wife ( a big supporter of all my car toys) died just 5 months before Bob did in 2005. That was a major blow to me. I hadn't even been out to my shop much from then until I bought my 65 F100 a month ago. I got it to motivate me to get back out there. I still have work to do on my 62 Galaxie, and my 58 Fairlane 500 that my grandparents bought new. The great people here have helped me a lot to get back. Thank you everyone!
