Dang those are deep! But the off road crowd loves it. If you want interstate gears, sell these and get a 3.73 or something. If you want to pull stumps, go with the 5.13
If you sell the ones you have, post them on a 4x4 site for best chance at getting top dollar.

I know someone around here posted a link a while back to a calculator that would give you the rpms to MPH for the wheel/tire/rearend etc ratio. Pretty good stuff.

But to give you an idea, we ran an 89 F250 back when i was a kid, with 4.10 rearends. at around 70 MPH we were pushing 3000 RPM or so. Heck it might have been 3500, can't remember. so your 5.13s are going to be screaming like a banshee if youre looking for freeway use.

Brings to mind though... I've got a pretty low rear end in my '63 F250, not a 4x4 though so only the rear. I think theyre 4.88 if I'm not mistaken. Is it worth anything? I really dont have any use for something that low, so if theres anyway i can get a decent price out of it I'm tempted to rip it out.

I was actually looking at this site today. Not too shabby of a site IMHO.

my 4x4 with y block and 4.56 runs 3000rpm@70.
100 mph with an FE and 4.88 sounds like the concorde jet.
4.88 and 5.13 were the only rear ends for the 65-66 f350s, factory was 4.88 for the v8 and 5.13 for the 6.
i have the 4.88 still, i sold the 5.13 i had to a friend who wanted it for an old stude he is working on.
the 61 f500 had a 6.19 rear from the factory, the marmon harrington axles i installed on it are 6.67.
i think 4.10 and 4.56 are the best ones for f250 4x4s.
