glove box problems
how do I put the thingy in to keep the glove box closed? anybody got a picture or a remedy? there are wire things, but how do i put em on
Is the 'thingy' & 'wire things' you're talking about something strikingly similar to a springy thingy??
If so, compare your thingy here; http://fordtruk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1156&start

Back to square one.
He asked how to put the spring tensioner on the glove box door. There is a slot in the dash and a hole on the leg of the glove box door. Position the spring so the tension is pulling the door closed. The loop on the spring goes away from the door.
There is also a little rubber insulator that goes on the door arm. I'll take a picture for you if this explaination doesn't help.
By the way, that little part you're asking about is correctly identified as a "dealy-bopper" .

I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

Skip,we probably should have a pic of this as it has been asked before and is kind of difficult to 'splain.
i however, do not feel like digging thru the snow to uncover one or removing my glove box so someone else with a parts truck in the green zone can do it.

No, no, no, and no. Don't quit the pain killers before getting the whatchamacallits installed. Little flying dohickeys have a habit of flying around and doing damage, and causing physical pain.
On a more serious note, no one has attempted to answere this question. My last round of installing these things has left a haze over the whole sequence of events. I seem to recall a certain amount of force was involved, as the spring ends have bends and take some seious wrangling to install.

Since I was in the initial batch of yahoos to lip off, here are some pics I took. Just happens that I took mine apart a few days ago, so it was fresh in my head.
There is a spring and a small rubber bumper that attach to the door arm.
