Tool questions - Cordless Impact Wrench

I was thinking of getting a cordless impact wrench and was wondering what you guys/girls are using. Since most of my wood tools are ryobi i was going to get the cordless impact wrench for the truck. I have the 18V tools so all i need is the body. What do yall use and what shouldnt you use???

we have most of the 18v ryobi tools.
the battery sawzall and chainsaw have proven very useful.
i would buy the impact too if i could find it in the store.
had to special order the chainsaw as it was out of stock in the store.
i recommend the lithium batterys and the better charger which charges both the regular and lithium batterys.

I don't have one, but know two people who do and they rave about them. I would have never even considered such a thing without their recommendation. Seems to be especially useful at the Pick-a-Part lots.

ive got the wordless chainsaw as well. pretty good to bring camping for fire wood...

I know the Wordless book, but a wordless chainsaw sounds very interesting.

Don't about the rest of you guys, but I have had a few chainsaws that were far from "wordless". I once owned a Lombard chainsaw that used up every bad word I knew when using it. Traded it in on a Stilh of course that was 30 years ago, still have it.

We use Mac Tools Impact that is the best I have seen,, we use it for taking wheels off, springs, etc, and when on the road it comes with us , usually one battery pack will take a front clip off if notr too hard, it was 400.00 for the gun , case, 2 battery packs and charger,,

hahah yeah those wordless chainsaws are quite nice....

So as far as a weekender as myself a cordless impact wrench should be good. I was first looking at the impact driver but then realized there is a difference in that the impact wrench is good for automotive use and not the impact driver...would be nice to get tires off in a zip...the wife said i could get another project so i think this would come in handy

I have a Milwaukee 18V Impact Wrench and it came in handy on the way back from KC Slick Stock. Middle of the desert changing tires...that's hot!!!

I have the Milwaukee, they are about the best there is but you pay for what you get. I bought the commercial set they sell for fire and rescue. Not cheap but I do this for a living so they get a lot of wear and tear and have held up well. Hawkrod

We have a Mac at the shop and I love it. For my own little projects I have an old sears 110v unit that has served me well for years.
I'm thinking about buying the battery powered Mac for my personal use, but I'm waiting until I can find one on Craig's List with a bad battery pack. Then I can replace the old ones with new lithium ion's.
I bought a Snap On drill for $50.00 with the charger and did that. I think I paid about $40.00 for the batteries.

junkyard is on spot . the mac tools are the strongest i have ever used. its broken studs on my gmc truck.

Both me and my Son both have Mac Impact Guns,, the tool man when we bought oursd sold a lot to the Nascar Teams I have had mine for 5 years replaced charger once, my sons is 1 year older only and we take it out every trip or any other place ,, its standard equipment when we leave,, around here we have air But since getting this tool, I very rarely fire up the air compressor

I've got a snapon. If it don't get it off, you'd better fire up the torch set but you better be ready to come off of the hip. They are proud of them.

Everybody that I know that has one says they wish they would've bought one sooner. I need to get one myself. Would've been pretty hany the other day while working on my Bronco...

I see them used at race tracks a lot, nice to be able to change a tire without firing up the generator. Mostly MAC, Snap On, Milwaukee, or DeWalt. I bought a cheaper one that I was not happy with. It was blue and said "goodyear" on it. Went back to using my 110v Milwaukee.

I have all dewalt 18v stuff. I upgraded to the lithium batteries this year and sold my NiCads while I could. It's just the 1/4" but it kicks plenty of butt. One of these days I'll buy the !/2". I get all that stuff at gulf sales and supply, they do a lot of business online too.

I have the Craftsman 19.2 Volt 1/2" impact wrench and it seems to do fine. All my other cordless tools are Craftsman 19.2 tools so I always have fresh batterys. Works great in the U-pull it yard for yanking off "innies" right Grits LOL. It's not a Snap-on but for $150 with two battereis was well worth it.
