Autolite 4100 carb

Post by Weedhopper »

I have 2 or 3 of these, and might be able to make one complete one. Anyone run one of their slick? Anyone got a carb kit manufacturer and part number? Advance Auto only lists the whole carb for $213.00. I ran one on a 67 Mustang with a 390 and loved it, smooth and powerful transition from 2 two 4 barrels. I guess there are some hop up tricks you can do??

Weedhopper.
Our resident expert on 4100's is WinR, aka Rickybobby.
Get in touch with him about the carb. I think for your 390 it would be a better choice than a new one. But like I said, experiment with jets and pumps.

4100s are total junk, put the ones you have in a box and I'll give you my address to properly dispose of them....

Good carbs, easier to work on than Holleys, and perform better on the street.

google the the carb and it`s numbers, a whole lotta sites for rebiulds and builders. probably i think the best 4 barrel carb, easy to hop up and stays set once you adjust it, better than holleys any day.

Thanks guys. I am going to send everything I have to WinR and get an evaluation if one can be saved. I rebuilt a 600 Holley and that darn thing fills the back two cylinders so full of gas it shoots out when I crank it with the plugs out. I think the base plate is cracked..... The 4100 looks like it will be perfect for my project.
