Paint scheme for money pit. Need some input

Post by Reds Rod Shop »

Ok, so I'm new at this poll thing so here goes my first shot at it. I've got a couple of colors in mind but can't seem to make up my mind so I figured that I would ask for some input. What's your taste???

Red.
Grey over aqua, but I'd go just a little lighter on the grey.... say something in the range of the color on the new BMW's.
The silver and red is nice too, but its been done before.
I like you thinking outside the box.

I would have to agree with the others. I like the Aqua and maybe a lighter grey.

I better be careful ... my slick may get mad at me and decide to throw a rod or something for not going with the red. th_aikido.gif

I'd vote white on the roof & lower sides - red on the hood / upper body segment.

White roof is good for helping to keep heat out of the cab, but the white hood is great for making you squint in the sunlight! Silver, too.

That's what I want to do on mine, just haven't figured out an attractive way to two-tone a flareside!

I like the Grey over Red but as has been said there are too many red trucks. I like the new Copper colors so I would go with that instead of red. The Grey will go with a lot of colors.

Nice photo shop by the way. I need to learn how to do that. What program are you using. I said photo shop as a generic term.

I too love the copper and would like to paint mine all copper with satin black stripes and accents.
But stay with the aqua and grey.

Rusty.
I drew a picture, copied a bunch of copies and colored them in.
In fact, that drawing is probably on this site somewhere.
If you look at your cab, the body line of the hood and doors goes down the back of the cab in a beautiful scallop. This is the line I'm talking about.
[albumimg]7459[/albumimg]
Paint the hood and upper body silver, following the body line down the back of the cab.
Paint everything below that body line red, or what ever color you want, including all the flairside.
You're going to be surprised how good it looks like that.

I wish that I had those skills but to be honest, I've got a guy in Atlanta that is doing this for me. It's a lot cheaper to work out the details of color before the paint is purchased. lol

Both look great, I would go Aqua, with the gray you have. I love firetrucks and red truck, but there's too many red trucks IMO...
So good lookin' that I've attracted an international stalker.

I'm a big fan of Red, if it's the right shade. But I have to agree the aqua looks more up to date. :D

Thanks for posting this. It will help with mine also. Whay about black lower and lark blue on top? There is a later model brand X running around here and it looks pretty sharp! But HOT if you have hot weather...

I relly like the post with the truck shown. Don't know how you did it, but looks great.

I keep wanting to use Grabber blue, but that is really stepping out...
