Check out the pics of the 65 Heirloom all original stepside. I think I might leave the original paint on it. I washed it and its in really GREAT shape. Needs a lil wood in the bed, and a little wet sandin or just a good green scrubby.

What a great 'ol truck. A Custom Cab with that bed and a big V-8 is unusual. I like It!!!

that's a beautiful beater, my friend... I like it. Don't exactly understand the plates sticking out with the tail lights... but nice. Original paint... wow.

Oh no, not again. Lord help us, Skip is thinking about a stepside bed again. The last time this happened Tom and I nearly went crazy listening to him rant! Well hopefully this time won't be that bad.

I'm not sure myself. It's not real heavy gauge, but it might look good chromed? On the original sale's sheet, it shows the "plated step bumber", so this might be a factory addon like the Nerf bars these days. This truck has been swarmed by cattle on many many occasions. He may have ordered it for reinforcement to keep from breaking the tail lights off by cows.

Eliminator, welcome to the club! Nice original truck! I have seen those plates arounfd the taillights hundreds of times, they were a farmer engineering way of making sure those lights didn't fall off on a gravel road.

That's what I was thinking too! I think I've only seen one prior to this one & I thought the owner had done it himself. Pretty cool.

The grille guard is a bit unusual, are you gonna leave it there? Can you tell what's supposed to hook in that middle piece?

The front guard is a "Cattle/brush guard". He used the truck to haul cattle and also to drpp hay squares. It spent alot of time in the pastures. The cows would swarm the truck, and very hard headed at times. So rather than bump the cows with the grill, he bumped with the guard. It is Solid Barstock. I think stainless, but maybe chromed. The middle piece is just a clamp holding the two bars together. This thing is bolted to the frame and just as solid as a heavy bumper. It DOESN'T bend at all.
