Santa came a little late for me but thats alright. They're not slicks but they are almost as good. I picked up 2 new toys. A 69 fastback and a 67 F100 4x4. The fastback is a little rough but its a fastback. Complete car minus the motor and hood. The f100 is complete with a rebuilt 428 and 4 speed. The cab is rough but I got a solid cab with the deal and an extra front end with disc brakes on it. Here are some pics of the mustang. I should get the f100 home in the next day or so. I'll post pics of it then.

If you think the Stang is too rough Red, I could probably find a place here at my house for it....

that is my sons favorite bodystyle for the Ford trucks. His first one was a '67.... can't wait for the pics of the Bump!!!

I might have a quarter extention for that car in the shed.

Looks like some goodies in that yard. Cougar, the pontiac next to your stang. I'd love to get that crispy burb across the lot....

Love those fastbacks. I helped a buddy redo a 69 way back in the early 80s. It wasn't as rough but needed a lot of work. It had one of those Earl Schibe drive through paint jobs on it. Looked like it had been done with a weed sprayer. We stripped it, fixed the rust at the bottom rear quarters, replaced the hood, went through all the suspension and brakes. Put a 351 and a four speed in. He had it painted gloss black with the rear taillight panel done in silver. The outside mirrors were silver too. Had the interior put back to factory by a pro shop. Turned into a beaut and last time I talked with him (he lives in LA now) he still has it and drives it a lot. Looking forward to seeing the pics of the bump too.

I am always sad when the window is left open open on those old beasts, which were already susceptible to rusty floors anyway. Gonna be some work to put that one back the way she was.

I'm looking forward to starting on her. My wife has been wanting an older car and I've been looking for some time for a fastback. She looks a lot rougher than she actually is. The floors are gone and both lower rear quarters are bad. It was parked for 25 years with the rear tires in a slight ditch leaving the floor practically sitting on the ground. 2 huge ant hills helped out the rear quarter rot. The PO deserted it at a garage and the shop owner wouldn't sell it. After 25 years and a lot of nature taking its toll, he sold it. The guy that purchased it couldn't get the title figured out so after 2 more years of nature, he decided to part with it. Now, I'm the lucky one.
Structally, the rear frame rails are in good shape and the front end is pretty solid. About a Grand worth of sheetmetal that will have to be purchased. I've seen a lot worse.
I didn't get my bump home today. My roll back driver didn't have time and seeing how he transports free, I'm at his mercy. Hopefully tomorrow. Pics will come as soon as I get her home.

Red,
there was an article in Mustang Monthly a couple years ago about a Mustang restorer. This guy would fix really badly rusted fastbacks by swapping the roof (yes I kn ow it's more complicated than that) onto solid base model coupes.
Just a thought.
