[quote="Gary Seymour"]Welcome to the site from Indiana
Very nice truck you have there. Interesting wheels. What are they?[quote]
Thanks to all for the welcome!
Gary, I don't really know what type of wheels those are, other than very old, rusty steelies with matching rusty baby moons. They came with the truck when I bought it and I took a rattle can of paint and painted the inside baby blue. I don't know much about the truck and I was hoping someone could decipher the id plate on the driver's door and the engine tag number to learn something about this old truck. The id plate has the following :
F10JR474156
114 YM F100 B81
5000 114 3600
Engine tag #: C1AE6015Y

Alf, Gary,
They look like American Racing Smoothies.
I like them painted the baby blue to match though.
These would make a good replacement to ditch the rust;

Welcome! Thanks for sharing your clean truck. Each year truck has its own special character which makes this era so interesting.Is it possible to take a picture of the tail gate area. Some early 64's use the slim one piece integral tail light lens with chromed plastic bezel not the larger two piece lens and aluminum bezel used on 65-66's.

If you understand what you’re doing, you’re not learning anything.

The driver's door id tag is called the Warranty Data Plate.Alfs64 wrote: I don't know much about the truck and I was hoping someone could decipher the id plate on the driver's door and the engine tag number to learn something about this old truck. The id plate has the following :
F10JR474156
114 YM F100 B81
5000 114 3600
Engine tag #: C1AE6015Y
Besides the information you listed, it should also indicate a TRANS CODE, an AXLE CODE and a DSO code.
Sorry, I can't help decipher your engine tag #.
Warranty Data Plate information:
WB = wheelbase length = 114"wheelbase, as your pic indicates, a short box (SWB)
COLOR CODE = YM = two letter codes = tu-tone paint = Skylight Blue & Whimbledon White
MODEL CODE = F100, 2-wheel drive
B81 = TRIM/BODY = B81 = interior trim code and body type
B = Medium Blue Crush Vinyl and Medium Blue Check Stripe Woven Plastic
81= Custom Cab model, conventional cab truck
TRANS CODE: ??
AXLE CODE: ??
MAX GVW = 5,000 lbs max capacity including people & cargo
CERT NET HP = 114 gross Horsepower
RPM = 4000 rpm , where max HP was measured/obtained
DSO CODE = ??
The DSO code indicates the District Sales Office, where the original seller/dealer ordered the truck from. If it doesn't have a DSO code, that would indicate that it was a custom-ordered truck, not sold off the sales lot.

I haven't seen any toolboxes on any trucks of this era, so I don't know if they are only found on the passenger side. Maybe someone else has seen them on the driver's side?ABA wrote:from South Carolina.
Awesome '64![]()
Now I got to find me a toolbox for my shorty.
Did those toolboxes only come on the passenger side?
