Oh No!!! Help!

Crap, today I broke the spring in the safety latch for the hood. I tried to weld the tip to the catch, but then the other side broke. Does anyone have one with a good spring that is in decent shape? I took some parts in to be chromed and forgot this so I told the guy I would bring it up tomorrow. Now I'll have to wait, but I still need to replace it. I don't see them available in my catalogs.
