Hello from NC-great site here. A lot of great projects/builds going on.

Was a 'Custom Cab' available in 1963 and if so, what did it include?

Thanks in advance.

off hand, it had chrome trim around the window, script on the doors, maybe the chrome lower piece on the dash under that goes around the knobs, and maybe trim down the side? I keep saying maybe because you could some but not all the custom cab things even if you ordered a custom cab. my 65 is a custom cab but it never appeared to have chrome trim on the side, but it had the script on the door, and the chrome window trim

Welcome!

Wasn't the big thing about the custom cab the gauge panel. It had a sweep speedo instead of a round speedo.

1963 was not the only year for these chrome custom cab scratch guards, they were also available on 1964 custom cab pickups.

This "lower piece" didn't exist (wasn't designed yet) on 1963 custom cabs, this piece was new on 1964 custom cabs.

But as I understand it, you either had the "scratch guards" OR the script, not both. And I'm also thinking that the "scratch guards" were not available from the factory if you had the chrome/aluminum side trim. The dash plates were chrome or painted. Probably the CC got the chrome and the standard cab got the painted???

Correct on the "scratch guards" applications. The "lower piece" trim under the instrument panel behind knobs (not the instrument panel itself) that reads "custom cab" was new on '64 custom cabs, standard cabs did not get any trim piece behind knobs.

:hello: Welcome mrgoob!

Not clear on the scratch guards; my '64 custom cab does not have them. Were they an option back then?

"Scratch Guards" were only available on the 63 Custom Cab trucks.
