Bench Seat track bummer

I have been stripping down the truck some more. I got the bench seat off the tracks because the track bolts were so rusted in. When I got the seat off I looked at the trackes and they were held together by a thin thread of metal. No use trying to fix them. Does anybody sell seat tracks? I want to keep the bech for Mom and the kids to ride with me.

I have a set from an 84 truck out back, somebody said there would work on the slicks, I will go an double check, if they work you can have them for shipping cost, should be less than 10.oo bucks.

84 won't work. The seat will but not the tracks. Ford changed the shape of teh floor in 1980 pretty dramatically, I just junked one and it even had factory buckets but the brackets are useless for our trucks. Between 61-79 the tracks should swap. I don't have any right now as I have been scrapping anything lately but they are as common as dirt. Hawkrod

I think around 73 the tracks became riveted onto the seat bottoms. Earlier tracks were bolted to the seat frame bottoms.

If I still have a spare set pulled off a 68 or so F100. I can let them go for cheap like 64slick was offering. PM me your zip if interested.

Not true, tracks are bolted to the seats all the way to 96. I put a pair of 1990 seats with center armrests in my crew cab. Just unbolt the tracks that come on the newer seat and bolt to the older seat tracks. Easy as pie and no rivits. Hawkrod

riveted vs. bolted. I wonder if it depends on which factory they came from. I was just given a seat out of a 76, and it has the riveted on brackets. The truck was a one owner truck, and sure looks like original upholstery and I was told it was the original seat. Guess he could have been mistaken. I don't really care one way or the other, as long as I got a place to sit.

I think you may just be mistaking what you are seeing. The later trucks use a very special bolt to holt the tracks to the frame. The tracks have to be removable for service as it is wear point and they are not the same for all models of Ford trucks after 1973 so they are definitely removeable from the factory. Hawkrod

OK for starters, there are 3 peices of a "seat"...the part you sit on the seat, the tracks and the brackets.

take a look at this...

The seat, tracks, and brackets changed in the 80s but that doesn't mean that they wont work.

I have a 63 seat with good tracks $15 + shipping.
