The day personalized plates became available in Alberta, I went in and ordered mine......too bad that since then, plenty of REALLY FAST street cars have been built, so now I have no hope of backing it up:(
My plate is 2FAST4U
....and a funny(disturbing??) story.....a couple years back, one chilly evening, my doorbell rings, I go to the door & find two constables....they ask me if I have the 2FAST4U plates?....then start asking about what vehicles I own...I tell them yes, describe what I drive, and what's in the garage, but why do you ask?
They were kind of sketchy on the details, but from what I gathered, someone either robbed a gas station, or pulled a gas & dash, and the car had 2FAST4U plate on it:?
So, I explain that there is a place in West Edmonton Mall that sells novelty plates, and that they often set up a kiosk at car shows, etc, and that I had seen copies of my plates there.....I offered to go get the plates, they said No, that's fine......but for my own curiosity, I had to go look & verify they were where I thought they should be:) (they were!)
So, a couple weeks later, I get a call from a Detective....asking me all the same stuff.....I told him his compadres had already been here & asked all the same questions.....and explained AGAIN about the novelty plates.....& finally offered to send him the link to their website......after that I never heard from them again??
Funny part is, I KNOW I saw an exact replica of my plate at their car show kiosk several years back, because I told the fellow I had the REAL one at home!! But now when you go on their site, it's not there, although there is one similar (2 FST 4U)????
