We have a new slick owner

Post by PFM-64f100 »

For those who went to pate and meet my budy Dave he is now a onwer of a 63 f100 step side. We just picked it up today. See below listing of truck from craig's list. I'm sure he will be joining soon and I will post some pictures of his pickup. Truck is in great shape needs bed wood and the orginal motor still works. Also he will needs to redo the brakes. Good thing is when we picked it up the guy said it was going to crusher soon. Makes us feel good to save a good truck like this.

Chris.
I just knew Dave was a convert when we all showed up and had the big B.S. session. He had "the look" when we started our get together, if you know what I mean. Give me an address and I'll send his TEXAS tee shirt iron on.
But a flair side??????...... stop it. You guys are killing me. STOP IT.
I've been looking for a bed for almost 10 years. Now that I finally found one that is useable, I was going to have one of the only flairside's in Texas....... now they seem to be everywhere. What's up with that?
AND, just to be on the record, you're going to be sorry you're passing on the bed. I had to put in that jab..... LOL. I think Richard is going to snap it up.
When I get back from Illinois, I'll get the frame for you and you can come down and get that little puppy.
Dave is going to sign on with us, right?
Welcome Dave.

BTW, see what Dave looks like in Max's photo in the Southwest Chapter photos.
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

Yea He's back in the slick game... I dang thing runs also just need some minor work.

Yea I know skip about the bed but it's just one of those things. eveyone got me thinking of SS08 and I have to get the more inportant things done first (at least it went to a good person). Let me know when the frame is ready I might have dave stop by and pick it up. He will be working in houston area next couple of weeks... Then again I might just fly down there and get it.

I know dave's gonna post some questions he's got about this slick. But until he does here's some pics of his truck. I like the plates on the step's.

Congrats, Dave! Nice looking truck!

I noticed your instrument panel has the same emergency flasher setup as Chiquita's '66 does from this thread; http://fordtruk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2223

Flasher

Post by Wollfe »

It is interesting but right now the truck seems to have an electrical Gremlin
and the flasher and right blinker are non functional.

Will have to dig into the wiring and figure it out.

:P Bravo Dave! You scored a nice one. I can't believe the PO was thinking of crushing such a nice truck.
Chris has been brainwashing you no doubt for a while, but in a good way.
We are all glad you're here. I think I saw you in a couple of those pics. You should have been in all of them. Hope you guys get the wiring issue ironed out. I am sure you will. Those missing cross sills for your bed are available new, as are any and all bed parts for those beds through Dennis carpenter or carolina classics. We have a place right here in OKC that stocks that stuff too. Mar K is their name and they advertise in all the classic truck mags. I have a narrow bed off a mid 50s truck with about all the floor wood gone too. I didn't mention it to Skip cause it isn't that good. I think he wants one in a lot better shape than mine. Cool thing is, you can take them completely apart with handtools. Replace what you need and bolt them all back together. Makes it nice when you are refinishing the whole thing and putting in new wood and bed strips.
Between you and Chris, she ought to be a road warrior in no time. Keep us updated on the progress, Dave. Glad you're here.
