I've enjoyed reading about your project today. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you with the wiring. Looks like a great truck! My truck spent 20 years in Bako before I bought it from my grandpa.

You might check this product out - I am VERY happy with it. I like it way better than POR 15.
Looks real nice there.

I hate how chassis paint only comes in silver or black...sherwin williams makes an industrial/marine grade paint that you can tint to any color and its tough as nails.

Yes, a 262 backed up w/ a t98 4spd. Not as pretty as your 223, however!

Don, I saw in another post that you drove your truck to castaic. Did you take your truck over the grapevine?

Yes. We stopped there on our way to Tucsan. It pulled Grapevine at about 45 or 50 in third south bound, but I don't think I had to downshift on our way back. I had the gears in my rear diff dropped to around 2.8 to be able to cruise comfortably at highway speeds.

Yesterday I wet sanded and rubbed out the fire wall (I was surprised how well it came out). I also painted the block. Today I started putting the engine back together. My next project is the bell housing and transmission.

Very nice,
Have seen CLR used on patina - cleans up the rust kicks the shine up but doesn't "change" it.

See post #23 and look at the pics;

Magnet paint comes in a satin or chassis black, you can top coat the red ox, silver, & chassis or satin black they make.

Just 15d the fron frame on my 65 I think you will like how it covers. Mine was in gloss so for paint cover it will be satin black.
