party bus

Post by azratrod »

i know its a bus and a gmc. but its a big old low mileage diesel, cheap, and a short bus! how can i go wrong? as if im not busy enough with finishing up the 64. this will be my second "shorty" and im hoping to tailgate out of her, take friends out to the bars in her, camp out of her, and maybe take garbz, kstone, bill w., and opwk to nascar in her. enjoy the pictures

Image
front end

Image
drivers side.
the "stop" sign has to be blacked out to be legal on the road. but no one said it cant say "stops for strippers" when it swings out

Image
the bar im buying it from is named American Junkie. its a cool place. a buddy runs it. there getting a bigger bus so this "shorty" needs a new home.

Image
a little rear end damage. damn female drunk drivers!

Image
all the white letters will peel off. the red and black is paint

Image
looking from the rear to the front.
an escape hatch.
the girls will be able to climb pretty high up on the stripper pole with the hatch open

Image
the rear door.
the rear speakers locked down

Image
the drivers seat.
the front speakers locked down.
it is wired for a tv, dvd, and an ipod.
"tip" bucket will be changed to "gas money"

Image
control panel

Image
seating for 24.
im going to remove most of the rear seats and put some used couches in instead. ill ad a fridge that runs off propane, and a jockey box that will hold ice and liquor for the mixed drinks

I had the use of one from work. It was great for concerts and bar hops the only bad was that I was always the DD and it only got 10mpg on a good day.

I Remember In The Late 70's A Band In Los Angeles Had A Bus Like This To Take People From Redondo Beach To Their Gigs In Hollywood. They Had A Keg In The Back And No Restroom And People Were So Hammered They Were Pissing Out The Windows On The Harbor Freeway. They Soon Stopped Offering This Service..... This Was In The Punk-Rock Day's, Drunk People Are More Civilized Now Aren't They??

short bus

Post by azratrod »

it should be a fun ride. and for the price im getting it for i cant go wrong. im worried about the condition of the motor. the owners said it was a diesel. its not. so thats clue number one they dont know what there talking about. its a gmc 366 big block. i dont know much about the 366. ive heard mixed reviews. so i need to get the bus run through a bus safty house and see if there are any problems with her before i pull the trigger on the deal

I used to drive school buses years ago, and a couple of them had the 366. Worst thing about them was the carbs.
They had a governor on them that really held back the engine performance and made them gulp gas.
Buses as a rule aren't great on gas, but you can swap out the carb on yours for a better one and tune on it til it runs right.
The school district wouldn't let me play with the carb on theirs, but you can do whatever you want.
Might even want to go bigger like a 454. Same engine family, but a lot more torque. TR

Back to our roots. Ridin' the short bus. Sounds like fun even if we have to go by the county jail. I really think that I would prefer to skip Sheriff Joe's pink underwear.
