When I was in high school I had a summer job running a pea combine on the 7 pm to 7 am night shift. I prit near had my fill of combining that summer, as we sat out on an open tractor (in the rain) not in a nice air conditioned cab.

Doesn't hurt to dream though, I bet you don't get many east coast canadians out to slick stock! The trip would be epic.... I'm going to focus on building the truck for the time being, but would love to attend an even like slickstock with the old girl.

My trip to Slickstock was 1500 miles one way(2500 km) ,almost exactly 3000 miles or 5000 km round trip. That is the 3rd time I have driven it. Next time it will be in a slick. We don't get many west coast-ers either. But they come. Doug drove out twice from California, and he intends to drive to the next one.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

Toughen up and be a man. I drove the N all the way from Central Texas and back. It was 980 miles one way of driving fifty year old technology. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to drive a semi fifty years ago, drive the N for about 200 miles on a two lane road bucking a head wind with a load on it. It was a twenty one hour drive home from Altoona. I averaged 45.6 MPH coming home, that did include four short stops for fuel and food. With out the stops the average speed would probably have been about 53 to 57 MPH.
Better drive my Slick then. Can't be the one accused of being the girl who stalks the site anymore. Thanks for the reality check Michelle! SlickStock 2012 or bust Baby!
im a thinkin maybe this .... ?

Cam L Milan,
You'll be missed my friend.
The only excuse I have is mis management of funds.
We bought the 77 Camper special and camper then traded the camper for a travel trailer. Then went to Oroville Ca to a 4th of July wedding and then to Elko Nevada for another wedding. A 2000 mile trip with a brand new camp trailer. So as a few here have done we have started an un touchable SS V fund. I don't intend to be a westener not in attendance again. Besides I'm not getting any younger and I really do want to meet as many of you all as I can in person.

Ther's a couple of us in SE Iowa, come on down and we can caravan the rest of the way.
I plan to have my uni running and also bring the '57. That way, one might be available for "guest" drivers once we get there! The more the marrier.
Later,

Greg, while you are right about it being a sleeper, I do have a potty in it for night calls, hince the name dunny. We have to give credit to the one that coined the name dunny for my sleeper. I had posted a picture of the truck and trailer with the sleeper on it and while Alan was looking at it Lyn walked up and as Alan if that was a dunny on the trailer. The nick name has stuck, so dunny it is.

I hope I always stay crazy, because I know if I ever become sane, it will drive me crazy.
