Ford vs. Cheby
How about Harley Davidson? 1903 to 2011........because of the "Life Style". I know this will ruffles some feathers, but I really believe it to be factual.
Not sure I understand this comment.
I don't care what anyone rides but when it comes to cruisers, for me it's a Harley or nothing. The metric cruisers scream "cheap imitation" and sound like fart in a tin can. I've owned tons of metric bikes and loved them, just not a cruiser.
BTW, this thread started as a "why do the 60's Chevy trucks bring more money than Slicks?"

Mine is a 63 flare with 350/350 and chevy front clip. Hate and judge me all you want, but it's a fun truck that even less people have on the road, and it's all my style. I understand the "purists," but sometimes it just sounds like two kids in the schoolyard arguing which one's big brother is tougher.
This board is great for help, but these arguments turn my stomach. To answer the original question posted, I agree with parts availability being the reason for the higher asking prices.
