I plan on checking out 65 slick this weekend. Just wanted to ask for input on what certain areas I should inspect. Any preliminary advice would greatly appreciated!
I found this link. If there is something missed here please share. Thx

that's a pretty good list. but i've bought all of mine without even seeing them with my own eyes...photos and conversations can tell you a lot about a truck.

you can't get there from here

The only thing I didn't see on that list was the drip rail above the windshield of the cab. This can be a big area for rust and is very hard to replace. Good Luck

That list is great.
What I have to remember when I look is what are my capabilities to fix what is there. I'm not good anymore or willing to do serious bodywork or welding as an example. But some of you are and are great at it. I'm better at other things like engines and detail work or things like that. Know your budget and limitations and realistic availabilities of parts you will need. You'll be fine if you keep these things in mind. Be ready and willing to job out or learn (with mistakes) areas of the whole job if you need to. Some guys on here can do anything and others like me have to have some stuff done.

Re: What main points to look for? (1965)
yes find something that the work needed relates to your skills
if your good with electrical stuff, something with a rats nest under the dash wont bother you
good with mechanics, find a nice body that does not run or needs something else you can fix
good at bodywork, a good runner that needs some repair/paint
like cleaning up/detailing, lots of trucks have missing knobs/handles/ rough seats/ugly instrument panels etc.
i get real dirty checking out trucks i pay real $ for
crawl underneath, look for body rot, rusty brake lines, bad frame spots broke spring leafs, wiggle the tie rods, shake the driveshaft, grab the front tires and pull on them
look around in the engine compartment, check the radiator/oil/brake fluid
check the pulleys/fan belts ,remove air cleaner to see carb.
up under the dash for nasty wiring, play in steering wheel, clutch.
