I stumbled across a similar video, then read up alot on this practice as my budget is probably similar to yours & I am going to give it a shot this spring. I was skeptical at first, but I dont see a problem with it, it doesnt seem to affect the integrity of the tire as long as you dont get carried away, Ive seen several tires with stellar results since. ...another affordable option is Portawalls which Ive seen first hand before that look pretty good as long as you have a fairly stiff sidewalls that arent a low profile.

I've Heard Those Portawalls Look Pretty Good, But After A While In The Sun They Start To Ripple And Look Like Bacon......
