This what mine used to look look like. 428 edelbock heads, healthy cam, streetmaster intake, 850 holley carb, 120 shot nitrous, and enough other goodies to get the truck to 11.96 sec 1/4 mile.

Nice looking motor! Where did you get those valve covers? I assume they are cast aluminum. I'd be interested in a set of those.

Nice collection of engines, Gents!

rcb1020,
Is that the air cleaner you plan to run with?
I'm just thinking that it might be a bit small to feed a 750cfm on a 460+" engine... :dontknow:

That's a " BIG NO " on the air cleaner , it's just to cover the carb while the engine is being assembled. I'm leaning towards a repop steel 50's bat wing air cleaner.

A 300 6 in my 63.

8979

It has a 1 bbl carb, weird ds2/HEI ignition, and a throttle bellcrank. I need to touch up the paint...
For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble

My '63 short wrongbed

"The Iron Rhino"
300 I6, 3 spd manual, DS II/ HEI ignition.

Stuff I added to Hints and tricks

-300-6 choke tube repair
-duraspark II/ HEI
-Horn ring contact tube repair
-turn signal indicator fix

Mikhail Kalashnikov and Nikola Tesla are the guys i think of when i build things.

300 Isix all stock that I know... 85 or newer block with an older head and single barrel intake.. I am going to put 86 split exhaust manifolds on her and am looking around for an after market intake to up size the carb, it will have true duals exiting in front of the rear wheels then...

...Image

Still working on her but almost there...
(it is a far cry from where it started though.. don't you think??)
