Hood adjustment Trick.

Post by huckdeuceman »

If your hood won't close down flush with the cowl!..and you don't/ can't replace hinges do to broke bolts/nut's
Try putting a couple metal washers between the foreward hinge to hood bolts on each side'' it will draw your hood down
in the back bringing it close to factory spec's, hope this helps like it worked for me! I've seen so many slicks with the hood
popped up in the back!..easy fix!

Here's proof that it works!

After-

That one took a couple of washers- I taped 'em together with a little masking tape to keep them together when I installed them-

Andrew.
How many washers did it take you to bring it down?
And if its sprung on one side only do you still have to space both sides.
Great hint.
Thanks.
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

Thanks for the info- tried this on my 66 and worked great- instead of washers I used fender/alignment shims -slip in and tighten up
