Welcome and let me say that is a beautiful truck.
Fred. The seats are Mustang units on early Bronco seat tracks. The console is a stock Falcon unit.

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

It's the grille, huh? I always knew you had a hidden hankerin' for '66 grilles.

I must have been hiding under a rock when these came out in 66, 'cause they built a very cool truck that year. I haven't seen one done quite this way, but really like yours. If I'm not mistaken, in 66 these sold for around $2500-$3000 didn't they? Beautiful truck! TR

Hey the '61 merc grille might be my favourite and the '66 might be my least, but that don't mean I don't like them ALL
way rather have a 66 grille than this ugly POS
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..
Guys
Thanks for the warm welcome back, I have been away from the Slicks 60's too long and haven't keep in touch like I should have. My first 66 CC Ford swb was black and with the red interior and matched my Ranger other than the bucket seats. My dad bought it new and I aquired it in 1971 when he passed away and I was only 12. I convinced my mother to keep it as I would need a truck in a few years when I got my drivers license. That truck was my baby in high school and still is and all the kids thought it was great, of course I modified it a bit with deep dish Cragers and a 351 Cleveland and a top loader 4speed. I still own it and it's been garaged since 1988. It needs some freshening up and it would look as nice as the Ranger. I fell in love with the Ranger 5 years ago when it showed up on an Ebay listing in Md. I went and visited the elderly seller who was moving to a retirement condo and was selling off all of his 10 beloved vehicles. He had bought the vehicle out of NC and had it totally redone. Anything it needed he replaced with NOS parts as his son worked at a Ford dealership. He had owned the truck for 10 years and had put only 10,000 miles on it. I haven't done a check on the mileage so I'm unsure if it has 42,000 or 142,000 but it drives like a dream. It has a 68 390 with a C-6 automatic these are the only non original items other than it has the wrong Ranger emblem on the side of the truck which is for a 1970 Ranger which I would like to change back to the correct ones for the front fenders which I have. But when I remove the rear body ones I will need to fill the holes and I not really up to that at this point. Also the front hood emblem needs to be a V8 instead of a 6 cylinder which is a NOS. These are all so minor items and will do soon as the kids are almost out of college. Just not enough hours in the day. Thanks for the kind words & take care Richie
Richie, that is a sweet 66 shortbed Ranger.I see your from Virginia.Maybe our paths will cross sometime.I have a 66 longbed Ranger. It would be neat to see them together.I am from Delaware.Take good care of that truck.Ira.
what makes Richies the sweetest , goes back to another thread where i was saying how much I appreciate things that are unique.
Rangers are rare. Shortbox Rangers are REALLY rare. Rangers in that gorgeous , one year only colour scheme are even more rare. and , to top off all that rarity, it's just pretty!!

as everyone else said I like the black with Red interior and im not even a fan of Red, I guess because its not TOO much red inside, just enough to give it the perfect contrast, its a georgeous Truck for sure
Not totally sure on the hood logos, but I think they were all lightning bolts until 64 or 65 when V8s had the V8 and sixes had the same lightning bolt from earlier slicks.
