Steering wheel adapter/installation kit

Post by Kellxr7 »

My awesome wife bought me a Mooneyes steering wheel for my slick

However I need to get an adapter & from what I've found I can simply use a Grant adapter, but I am not sure what year my column/steering wheel the PO retrofitted, its obviously mid-late 70's wheel & collar but I dont know how much of a visible physical/mechanical difference there is with a (non tilt) column from 66 to 79, I am wondering if the 3285 Installation kit will work, or if it would be at least close enough to modify to work?

Nope. Your column is a 78/79, and that kit only goes up to the 77. See if they have an install kit for a 78-79. (different column top) Nice truck. What color wheel did your wife get you?

I just wasnt sure if the PO just left the 66 column & took a 79 wheel/collar & mounted it on the 66 column (if that even works without heavy modification)
