My 70 Fairlane on the dyno-vid
My 70 Fairlane on the dyno-vid
This car gets neglected pretty bad. It sits all winter, I change the oil and mostly never open the hood to do anything. A local shop had a dyno day today and I just happened to drive by
298/HP 310TQ. I was hoping for 350/365 but I am OK with the numbers. Itll still do mid 13s and I never have to work on it.
Sounds good anyway

Phil: You can't just go giving us dyno numbers and not tell us what lurks under the hood, and what's done to it:):)

Re: My 70 Fairlane on the dyno-vid
your numbers are right for flywheel hp/tq. sounds good and 13 flat for a tank like that is good stuff. dyno numbers don't mean squat. there are 1000hp dyno queens out there that can't break 10's.

1st off, sorry, this was meant for OT.
Thanks for the comments guys
1973 460 .030 over. D3 heads, mild port, Performer RPM, Holley 850, C6 3800 stall, 9" 3:50 trac loc. Comp 280H cam, recurved distributor with duraspark ignition, Hoocker 6115 super comp headers 2.5" exhaust through DynoMax Ultraflows.
The car has been "Done" for 3 years but it's time to tear it apart again.
It steers like wet soap on glass and the rear leafs need replaced.I also need to get the speedo fixed and a couple minor things

Re: My 70 Fairlane on the dyno-vid
Something doesn't seem right. I assume that's a Dynojet inertia dyno? I just dynoed at 288HP and 344Tq with a 390 FE with smaller cam and a lean 600cfm Holley. I would even venture a guess that my truck and your car are pretty close weight wise and there's no way I could run mid 13's with my 3:54 gears. What's your secret?
