Bed repair, My way....

Post by Anthony »

right or wrong, this is how it is getting done...

cutting it out..

now that it is out, time to fit the late 80's bed floor into the hole.. :hm: :thumright: I've got this..

I have it fitted, the cross members cut to the right height to fit the frame rails and line the body and bed lines up, it is all screwed together with self tapping screws till welding tomorrow.. should be ready to put back on after tomorrow... still have to jam out the back of the cab and the front of the bed.. I will address the corners at a later date.. moving right along...

Sounds like it should work pretty good. I am going to try and patch mine, one of these days.

Anthony, how are you flipping your bed when you work on it? By hand or using a cherry picker or something else?

I need to flip mine over to do some repairs and I'm worried about messing it up.

doing it by hand Dot.. it is at my Buddy's garage out to the side where I can use his "good" tools... I am laying tires at the front of it and rolling it over with the help of 3 other guys.. it is definitely heavy and I am doing my best to not mess mine up either... this is just what was the best for me...
