True the belts are on order we will see if they come in on time. They are set at number 7 cause it won't stop the truck from going. :) May only be me riding in it but that is ok also. :)

Chris, won't she cut you any slack on #7? Considering how hard you have been working I think it could wait a while longer.
I guess she is thinking about JT and Mattie! I ain't skeered, I'll ride with ya. TR

#7 won't stop us from going, just a safety preference. 5 & 9 also done, 10 just waiting on 6. I updated since Chris has been in the shop so much. Not easy on 100+ degree days. Really hope all goes well, would be so nice to make the trip in "Blue Steel" as the kids called her (rhymes with the 64 Lucille).

Got more done this weekend. :)

1. :thumright: get speedo hooked up and calabrated.
2. :thumright: get wippers in correct orentation.
3. :thumright: AC working.
4. :thumright: Insurance
5. :thumright: State inspection
6. Tags
7. Seat belts (wife really wants these installed before trip, me ehh, grr,,, hummm)
8. :thumright: Fill the hole where tank was in cab, Easy just have to find my part again.
9. :thumright: Electric door locks installed.
10. Nice test drive somewhere to ensure all is good......

Of course number 9 has only one lock not being electric. Yes the drivers door the poper lost a wire so it won't work. I will find one this week. I keep adding stuff to the list so above is just the highlights. I plan on gettings tags Tuesday hopefully. If seat belts come in then I will get them installed if not oh well.

Feeling a lot better right now hopefully that stays the course.

adding a picture just for Nick R.

Seat Belts also arrived yesterday but I didn't see the box until today. :) I will try and get them installed this week.. The fun ones to install will be the driver/passenger. The piller that the shoulder mount is attached to is not accessable from the top. grrrrr. Oh well I have a plan brewing in my head to get around that. :D I hope to take a drive to decatur on Wednesday night as a shake down run. It is about a 40 ish round trip.

10. down_1_Revan.gif Nice test drive somewhere to ensure all is good...... cuss.gif

Well number 7 has 4 of the 6 belts installed and that is a good thing. But number 10 the test drive failed in a big way. Until last night I only drove it around the block and side streets, I didn't hit but 65 mph for a matter of seconds before the road ran out. Every thing seemed fine. Well last night I decided to hit the freeway and got it to 60ish before she down shifted and started having problems. The tranny would not continue at free way speed very long in fact before I got to the next exit (less than 1/2 mile away) I was down to 50 mph. I hit the exit then the motor stalled out and was at 245 degree's.. Needless to say I the Crew Cab won't make it to SS5. I will have her there for SS6.

I still plan on going just without a slick. no.gif

Man, Chris; I don't know what to say! I've seen the thoroughness and quality of your craftsmanship; these things should not be happening. Put Mom and the kids in the car and bring the 64!
I was looking forward to the lighting showdown between your crewcab and my "emergency vehicle" I sure hope I can avoid a similar plight in the 400 mile initial drive in an untested 50 year old!

It's been a poor week around my house, too, but I'm sure looking forward to next week.
If there is any thing I might do to help, just let me know!

Chris, Sorry to hear about your truck issues, I, like most were really looking forward to seeing the crew. You are still comming so that is a plus and you can always have the truck for next time. Look at the bright side, atleast it happened close to home and it was just you in the truck and not halfway here with Jenny and the kids in there broke down along side the road. See you in a few Days...........Kid
