Needing a oil pan for 240 cid from 65 f100
Needing a oil pan for 240 cid from 65 f100
My oil pan was stolen from the shop that was maching my engine. The shop is having a tough time finding a replacement oil pan and that is keeping me from getting my engine. i've tried on line and Ebay without any luck. What years will fit my block is my first question and does anyone have one for sale.

Gads -- tons of years from 240 and 300 engines will fit. The block did not change much. IIRC, there may some changes to the seals that might effect the very latest engines, but even that is just a matter of getting the right seal I think. I put a late 70's 300 pan on my 240 since it was a quart more capacity (and less buggered up).
The location of the drain plug moved around a little. However, I can tell you that the 65 location stinks, so don't let that hold you back!
You might want to try www.fordsix.com and peek at the classifieds there. Or someone here may soon chime in with one for a few bucks and shipping.....

CK local junkyards, should be plenty there. I think 65--86 should work. WHAT A BUTTHEAD to steal your oil pan. Good luck,Tony

If it cain't be fixed with a sledge hammer it must be an electrical problem!

Me, I'd pay the $20 to avoid the boneyard and gas getting there! But its true, the local pick and pull will almost certainly have one -- except you have to either lift the engine, OR manage to get your hand into the pan and remove the two bolts holding the oil pickup tube onto the oil pump. Only then can you get the pan out. Remember, all ths while oil and dirt are falling in your face....Blackwaterforge wrote:I have one from a later model truck.
