value of tools

Post by ICEMAN6166 »

i was given one of these a few years ago complete with all the stuff including the manuals. its big and took up lots of space in the trucks but i brought it anyways because i dont like to give up good tools. out of curiosity i decided to look it up on the net this is what i found.

granted stuff always goes cheap on gov auctions but i thought it was worth at least 5x that.

Insurance Company paid $1200.00 for mine in 2008. They used my valuation and told me if I decided to replace it, the replacement value coverage would cover any additional expense. I still have an old compact Radio Shack build-it-yourself scope, if the rats haven't eaten it  . I also managed to salvage the majority of my smaller Snap-on test equipment since they were above the water level. VAT's, distributor testers, even an on-car wheel balancer (in really sad condition)!

I had one a few years ago. I couldn't give it away. Took up far too much room for my little shop.
