Truck Jack

Post by jefflovesf250s »

All: Just received a nearly NOS jack for my '66 F250 and in my enthusiasm to see it working, I cranked it to full extension-both the inner & outer "rams" are extended.
Now, when I turn the crank the opposite way to retract the rams, the crank receiver stops turning/jams and the rams won't descend.
Any ideas on how to make it descend or is it screwed beyond repair? Thx for any advice. Jeff

Speaking of the jacks and such for our Slicks; just where were the jack and lug wrench secured when first delivered?

Were they under the seat, behind the seat next to the fuel tank, were they clamped down or loose, or ??

Were they located in different locations for a 4X4 vs. a 4X2?

Ihave the same question?

I have a jack and the rod that i think came with it to operate it but no clues as to where either might mount. I seem to remember seeing one mounted on the inner fender well? mines a 64 Six/2 wheel drive. Currently the Jack lays in the bed and slides around from corner to corner! I've seen more than one this way too

My first uni was set up that way(clamped under the hood). Please post pic of location if you have it because I suffer from CRS.(It was 32 years ago)

early trucks were under the hood on the inner fender
then in the dentsides when the tank moved outside they went behind the seat
in the 80s they moved back under the hood, stayed there at least until 91 as thats where it was in the crew i had.
