Got to let you know, I love the attitude!
I make and smoke my own sausage. Fifty years ago I started filling the casing by hand through a wide mouth funnel my dad made for my mom.
I now grind and stuff 30 pounds of meat through a hand crank meat grinder I attached to a garage door opener.
If you read my build thread you will notice I bought and installed one of the early ifs swaps on ebay. The swap uses a 79 Cordoba ifs, and it bolts on with some modification. The problem I face, is the different lug patterns. I learned I might be able to swap spindles between the Cordoba and one of the 5x5.5 truck spindles
Do you know of a source I could look up size, length, bearing sizes, dimensions, on the Chrysler/Dodge spindles .

There is a member on here that works at a dodge dealership parts room (I think) he had posted about some swaps at one time. I cant remember who it was though :( that's the best I can do. You can buy wheel adapters tho...the newer wheels with a big offset requires spacers anyway. It might be an option.

Thanks thug, hopefully whoever that was will read this and post or pm me.
It would really suck to try and field swap spindles at a pick and pull.
not really an option useing spacers with the mags I want to put on it.
thanks for looking out.

Hey Uni-mad, if you know anybody at a parts store, you might get them to check the size of your spindles & bearings against the '86 Dodge Ram 1500 (which is a direct swap to get 5x5.5 on the Dakota spindles) and see if the might work for you. If not that particular year, maybe there's another year of Dodge truck that will work. Hope that helps a little....

I used the 87 Hubs and re-drilled my rear axles to get 4.5 x 5. More rim choices that way. :2cents:

I went with the dodge ram hubs to get the bigger brake rotors but then changed my mind on wheels and ended up with spacer adapters. wish I didn't have to space the front, because it puts my tires pretty close to the fenders.

Great write up! I am looking at the Dakota Clip vs Crown Vic IFS. Looks like you would get the similar track width. Seems that you would need the mustang offset wheel with this as well as the CV.
Any thoughts?

Well I took the extra effort to make sure I had the tracking the same as the rear wheels. which meant taking a notch out of the outside of the frame rail. Then had to use a spacer adapter to keep it because of the mustang wheel offset. honestly if I do another one it will be a CV. that way I wont have 87 Ram ,88 Dakota and 2003 ram parts mix. I need a parts list to remember what i need to replace anything with.
