Those wheels go really well with the truck! Nice job with the dash; I bet some red sun visors would match up nicely.

I think that truck has been entirely too much trouble for you. You should send it up here to the great white north for some cold dry Prairie storage, although it's currently hovering around 95 degrees up here. I will keep good care of it, and it's 429. You didn't like those back tires, anyway did you?

Interesting that it still has the Ford logo on the passenger door. I have yet to see an unrestored truck that still has it, ran across a few that still had the rectangle it's mounted to and that's about it. I like the red lower on the dash. Your truck does have a real nice stance and the slotted mags look great on it too.

Is that a factory thing? Someone else painted the red and I figured someone just stuck that on.

Both of my 66`s have the ford badge on the right hand side doors(our drivers side door),nice touch taking photo of one from inside the other and its good to see where different member are at with thier trucks.Alan

Two fine looking Fords. My driveway has two Fords as well, just not as nice. My 65 and my wife's Windstar minivan, but hey, still a Ford. lol

Same here. Ever since I was a kid, I've wondered what was supposed to be in that rectangle. My Dad had a '62 longbed Uni that I learned to drive in at age nine...his was missing the logo too. I remember pickin' at it during long, boring highway rides...my dad drove sloooow.

hey heavy hauler that truck is identical to mine,,very nice!! interier in all,, just one question though,, is it hard to turn with the smaller steering wheel than the factory wheel??? I don't have power steering and liked the setup you got,, just wounderin....

Its cake with the power.

My steering rack in general has a lot of weird overcenter play though.
At 50+ its a handfull. Its kinda squirly.

LOTS of rattles I need to trace. I may pull some leafs soon just to improve the ride.
I drove it to work today (15miles) and hit my head on the roof twice from bumps.

I get a lot of attention (I'm really not about that at all) but its different from my Fairlane. Its a lot of guys older than me (40+) who have owned them.

I met a guy at the gas station at 1am last week who said he had one
about 30 years ago he drove all over the country. I asked where he
drove it and how far and he said Alaska, Utah, Nebraska etc. Pretty cool.
He threw out the name of some TV show and when I asked what he was
talking about he said Jack Lord drove one in some show about rodeo life.
It was on before Hawaii 5/0

Today at work I gave 2 young women a ride to the Zoo entrance, they
were trying to get in a service area to get to the zoo. We drove about
100yds and they started asking all about it, year, where's the seatbelts?, why it was so solid for being so old, etc. It was kinda cool.

Real nice looking truck AND car. I don't know if it was ever discussed or not, but what kind of bumper is that on the front of your slick? looks right at home there.
