Wow, just saw this: "Around noon, a large tornado hit Adairsville, Georgia and the surrounding areas of Rome and Calhoun. There has been one death confirmed in Bartow County. The tornado went over I-75 tossing and overturning around a hundred cars and tractor trailers. The interstate remains closed near Adairsville.

Tennessee had eight confirmed touch down today killing a man in the Nashville area. Both Governors of Georgia and Tennessee have declared state of emergencies."

Several years ago while working near Wichita, I invited my wife to join me for Labor Day weekend. Since I was going to KC for the Goodguys Nationals, I suggested that she fly to KC; she could check the local casinos while I was at Goodguys, then we would drive back to the remote campground southeast of Wichita where i had bought a travel trailer. When we were heading down IH35, I made the mistake of pointing out a tail descending from the clouds in the southern sky. It was rather quiet for a few moments, then she mentioned that, according to the pics that I had sent, my trailer was in an area of dense trees. We were shortly on the way back to Harrah's, and she managed to find some reason she could not again come to visit me in Kansas.
It thus surprised (and pleased) me when she agreed to go to Slickstock, even after full disclosure that part of the trip would involve driving to southwestern Nebraska, and following an as-yet unseen 50 year old tow truck back to (hopefully) KC!
After living in Indiana, she has no use for snow, and would rather chance a hurricane than any remote chance of a tornado!
Grits, glad to hear you are all alright; that was quite an impressive radar screen with the multiple storm lines reaching from Galveston to well into the Midwest.
