Put in a new battery in the '66 and went for a cruise for an hour or so. Spring is here.

Also split the 430/AT that goes in the '62 uni, got it on an engine stand and started stripping it down yesterday. Spent most of the day getting exhaust manifold bolts out, only broke 1 stud and 1 bolt. Got both out first try.

Last weekend I installed new chrome sun visor brackets and new sunvisors from LMC truck. Surprisingly good quality considering they are made in Tiawan.

Yesterday, I drove it to a local car show. Then I drove it on the freeway for the first time in 12 years. First time at sustained highway speeds since putting the truck back together. Discovered that my Ididit steering column had an emergency flasher switch on it, so that explains why my wiring guy didn't put my switch back in dash. Washed it so I could put my new LMC truck cover on it to hopefully keep the dust off and avoid some garage rash.

My son and his friend Colton helped me take off the front clip of our '64 F100 parts donor. Hopefully blueovalmadness still wants to buy the sheet metal now that it is off. He looked at it last october and said he wanted it, but I see he was trying to sell his '64 swb pickup earlier this winter. Now I remember why I waited so long to remove the clip, it was an afternoon job without the torch. I eventually want to shorten the '64 frame to reuse it as a place to store my '63 uni swb on until it goes to the bodyshop, in the mean time I can restore the original chassis. If Nick passes on the sheet metal, I'll be advertising it here first, then it goes with me to the swap meets. I am so happy that spring finally got here!

I put my hood on, ran the wiring to my new volts meter, installed speedo cable to the dash head, put all new ground straps on battery cables, Now I'm waiting for the motor to arrive on Saturday so I can complete the front end sheet metal 90% done after a year and half.

Installed a front swaybar from a 73 F-350. What a great improvement! Makes the steering feel slower as I can go into turns much more confidently and not get thrown about.

More welding side chrome strip holes on the passanger door closed. Welded up the holes that the previous factory rearview mirros left in the door and started to fill the hole in the bed side where someone had mounted what I presume to be a whip CB anntena. Pulled a dent in the front crown of the passanger side fender and welded in the slide hammer holes.

My son needed a subject for his police photography course so we rode down to English Landing In Parkville Mo and took some night shots of the 66.
Here are a few of the photos

Oil, grease & filter, full tune up [points were thin] never even pulled the dizzy cap in the 7 or 8 years of owning, had a bit of a skip last weekend when I started her. Running excellant now, bought a new fuel pump for just in case and my carb kit should be in tomorrow. Started to mount the steps for the flareside finally, pics to follow when they are done.
