PLEASE, Stop me from buying a motorcycle

Give it a rest guys. Two people have died riding bicycles and none on motorcycles at my work place this year. Should we all stop riding bicycles?

Hey Willy- I said FOR ME it's a clue, I've had 4 jobs, 2 deaths and 2 severely broken legs that kept them out of work for at least a year. I guess it's just a coincidence just like bicyclists at your work. I can say with certainty that more people die here on a motorcycle than on a bike.

I have also thought of getting another bike for years now. My issue has been $$. I could likely afford one now and start thinking more seriously about it this time every year (I live by I-29, major Sturgis route, lol). New trumpet 8K, WOW. You might be able to buy a set of HD wheels for that. Besides I always liked Triumphs, hmm.
Doc, the dog doesn't have to die. You still have the 25 MPG Slick to haul the pooch in.

My payments on my Electraglide were about 270 a month. I ride it to work every day. Fuel cost about $15 a week instead of $50. Total fuel savings of about $150 per month. Monthy payment on bike about $120.

Alway preferred a wider tire on the front. Cruzers are a sweet ride (wife likes it better too). Like having a stereo for the long ride to the lake home

By the way all! I just got Married 7/28/2007. If I told my wife I wanted to quit riding......... I'd probaby end up divorced 2 weeks after. Hehehe!

Well, I'm late to the party, but here's my 2 cents [I'm not gonna try and talk you out of it, though]:
I got back into riding a few years ago after being off of a bike for many years. Started with a 750 Magna, then replaced it with a Shadow 1100 ACE a year or so ago. I upgraded for the bigger engine and comfort of a cruiser. Plus the price was just too good to pass up.

One of my greatest pleasures is riding 2-up with my better half. Or my daughter. So my advice is: if you want one and can afford it - go for it!

ps: what you got against radiators?

People die everyday from smoking. That doesnt stop anyone else from lighting up.

My neighbor's wife "wont let him" buy a bike and he always reminds me how I am going to die when I ride mine. I stay out of the sun, but my neighbor and his wife lie on their deck all day and then go tanning at night.

If you ask me, I would rather die quick on my bike than the slow, painfull skin cancer method.

My point is, pick your poison. We all take risks. Calculate which ones you are willing to take and then enjoy your decision!

That's the main reason I like my old pickup too. the simplicity and being able to handle most any roadside problem without the help of a Rollback and a Dealer.

Next time you come through Globe, let me know and we could have some coffee or other, I only live about a half mile from the Texaco station when you make the turn to go to ShowLow.

Sometime, I get a bad case of CRS, guess this might help, nine two eight four two five nine zero zero one. I am here most all the time, my wife is disabled, so I don't stray very far or long. She can't answer the phone, so if I am outside or gone, there is a answering machine.
