Be sure to check the fit of the centering hole on the spring bolt. My Maverick only needed a 1/2" hole but the new "universal" pads I picked up last week has 5/8" holes. I thought the rearend looked funny before I removed it. The previous owner had put the same 5/8" hole pads over the 1/2" bolts and the rearend was not square under the car.

I put 1/2" x 5/8" steel reducer bushings in the centering holes and welded them in to reduce my hole size. I can't remember what size the hole is in a slick but it bears watching.

I don't believe it's suppose to be an exact fit. I do remember when I had my springs rearched that the hole in the factory axle pads was larger than the bolt.
Assuming that the head of the bolt is 1/2" and the hole is 5/8", that is about .18 degrees at the most that it can be off, assuming that everything else is perfect - it's a factory axle housing so I guarantee it is not perfect.
