a photo of the new caps is on the Slick Stock website.
For those of you that have sent your check, cash or money order... the first 36 will be shiped on Monday or Tuesday. If you haven't sent your order in, the next 24 caps are being made at this time. If orders come in for more that 24, I can up the order and get you a cap. Thanks for supporting Slick Stock 08 in Kansas City... A year from now and we will be packing for the trip! :D

Casey: I sent a check for three when the announcement first came out but the check has not posted yet. Did it get to you? Ross Swearingen (RAS). If not I can stop the first check and send another one. Thanks for taking on the added work and stress.

Slick 60s caps

Post by MyDads64 »

I don't wish to start any trouble, but next year please consider leaving off the apostrophe. An apostrophe is use to either make a contraction of two words or show ownership. i.e. Joe's going to town means Joe is going to town. Joe's car means that Joe has a car.

Slick 60's does not fit either of these. The correct designation should be Slick 60s - Everywhere - to be grammatically correct.

I know I will probably start a rukus with this, but since most of us object to 'Press 1 for English', let's consider using it correctly.

Well; it should probably be written with the apostrophe before the 60. Like this: '60s - but we ain't that particular, are we?

As I look at the top of this page and several others, it appears that a precedent has been set. However, not to worry, this will not be a problem in the future. Perhaps the name of the club should be the "FUSSBUDGETS"... Oops, where to put the "apostrophe"...

You gotta be kidding me...

You could always just spell it out:

Slick Sixties

Hmm... Maybe not. It seems to lose something in the translation.

I never was great in english/grammer but after looking at the hat I would say the apostrophe could make sense.

If you have a 1961 - 1966 Ford F-Series Pickup it is considered a slick 60. If you considered the site "belongs to" or was "created for" the trucks it would be correct. It is the Slick 60's 1961 - 1966 Ford Truck Club. Same as John Doe's 1961 - 1966 Ford Truck Club.

BTW, the hat looks great!
