SlickStock 2014 Ittinerary

Post by Kid »

Looks like we will have the customary before SS week cookout here at our place on Sat evening Aug 16th. Early birds will be moving into the hotel on Monday Aug 18th ( several will be here by then ). The official kick off nite will be Thurs Aug 21st and run through Sunday Aug 24th. We will have a cookout Thurs evening somewhere but not sure where yet. We will have a cruise set up for Fri ( still working on details ) but it will be fun. Sat will be the annual Altoona Palooza car show and event if we want to go ( we did it in 2010 ) and our own activities on Sat afternoon. One evening we will have the cooker trailer again, probably Fri . Valve cover racing will be 2 days, Fri for qualifying and Sat for Eliminations plus we will figure out something else to use the track for , any suggestions.

If you have never been to a SS event and wonder if it is worth the trip I will tell you this, The official start is Thurs evening but there will be people here in Iowa on the Fri before and I would be willing to bet there will be atleast 10 or more here to check into the Hotel on Monday with us.
There are some Days I should not be let to go into the public without adult supervision

Hey Thomas, I`ll get the pilot to honk the horn when we fly over, so you know when to head for Altoona!, and Doug`s a great bloke try and PM him to see what he`s plans are..

Man, did I dodge a bullet. My son's wedding was originally supposed to be mid-August of 2014. I didn't know how to tell him I'd miss the wedding. :D
Turns out they put it off for a year. Couldn't be happier.

Haha Alan. There's actually a private air strip just a couple miles from my house. We'll have the pilot make a little pit stop!
I've seen Doug's '64 on here, its one mighty fine lookin slick!! Driving it from SoCal to Iowa must of been a blast.

Thanks Thomas!, but we fly straight to Dallas/FT Worth now, bit longer flight ( 15 + hrs) but we don`t have to contend with LAX that way! :dancing:
