1959 f100 9" rear end?

Post by Gcwstang »

I have a what I think is a 9" rear end but I am trying to get disc brakes for it but the axle bolt pattern doesn't seem right it has 5 bolts to bolt the axle to the housing

There are no 9" rearends that have a 5 bolt pattern I am aware of.

My '57 and my '61 and '62 all had the same axles in them.

There are 3 different bolt patterns on 9" rears.
Small bearing
Old Big bearing
Now big bearing

You probably have a Dana rearend. Does the rear cover unbolt?

No the back doesn't have a removable cover on it, it has a fill plug and 2 dimples but has the 5 bolts like the mopar one

It's probably a Mopar 8 3/4 rearend. Look similar to a Ford but nothing in common mechanically.
