With The Hole In The Dash Finally Patched It Looks So Good I Can't Bring Myself To Drill It For The Stock Radio I Have. It Sure Looks Like A Blank Canvas For Some Pinstriping. Any Opinions, What Do You Guys Think Radio Or No Radio?? I'm Marinating On This One At Least Overnight.

mine has the requisite "kraco hole" in the dash from a sawzall back in the 80s.

Same dilemma, Dana; I like the look so well I considered extending the glove box to eliminate the ashtray. I then realized it would interfere with the under-dash a/c, so I just covered it with Slickstock and other car meet thingies! I may try to turn the useless ashtray into a glide-out cup-holder. The old am doesn't offer much entertainment value, so it will probably not get installed.

hide the box , hide the controlls .pin stripe the canvas and have great sound with no visable head unit.

I have a clean and smooth dash. No Radio holes, no ash tray, no glove box. I wouldn't start drilling on my dash for nothing. My sound system will be hidden when all is done. I'm working on a custom center console, but even then you won't see my system or speakers. You might see my 8-track player, that depends on how the console comes out, you won't see my system.

I have the original AM radio in my 64, but like others have said, it lacks for entertainment value. I listen mostly to oldies on FM. Looking for a same hole pattern AM/FM to replace it with. If I can't find the same hole pattern, I think I will put one in the glove box. I do not change channels much so it would not be inconvenient to have it in the glove box. That would save me buy the glove box line since mine is gone.

Personally like the "uncut" version, or at the very least an original AM style radio with the more uptodate "innards" and controls cleverly hidden.

don't drill it, undrilling holes is a lot harder than drilling them.

I for one think you should save that space for a outlet on your new Vintage Air AC unit. However you need some good tunes now and then, maybe you could get one of those cool fiberglass headliners with a console for your radio, what do you think?

After Marinating On This Overnight I Have Decided Not To Drill The Dash. If I Change My Mind I Can Always Install The Radio At A Later Date. Of Course The Console Headliner Is An Option As Well. Bad News Is That After Inspecting My Core Support Yesterday I Have A Feeling Any Money I May Have Had To Spend At The Wichita Auto Swap Will Be Going Towards A Replacement.

. I May As Well Replace It While The Inner Fenders Are Out. Looks Like The Winter Projects Are Stacking Up......

Since my CrewCab is uncut I plan on doing the below and mounting it under the seat. I am adding in the Blue tooth option so I can play music via my Iphone. No cutting on my dash plus the price is good.

Can't hear a radio over the cherry bombs and wind noise at speed anyway. You can make a nice plate and mount it under the dash, and still use the stock radio if you wish. Personally, I would suggest something a little more modern.
