I really just found the site recently - didn't know these trucks were called slicks.
Anyways, Elmer as my '64 292 F250 t18 is called regularly does 60-120 mile days so I'm sure heading up to Iowa wouldn't be too much stress.
Anyone else live up in Chicago area and heading down?
My brother lives just west of Chicago about 100 miles and he will be driving out here and truckfarmer lives SW of Chicago and he will be heading this way and Jerry D lives in Woodstock and he will be heading this way. What day are planning on making the trip. My brother is coming on Wed of that week but not sure when the others are planning on traveling. I also know there will be some coming through Chicago from farther East that you might be able to hook up with..............
There are some Days I should not be let to go into the public without adult supervision
How many trucks usually come to SS? I'm not entirely sure I can come since we are planning a wedding for September and August is full of MotoGP and other Bike Shows, but it sounds like a great time.
What do you all usually do at ss? How does the weekend go down?
We all kinda like to describe Slickstock as family reunion except that everyone gets along...cept there's no hot cousins to hit on...
In all seriousness it is a great time, check out some of the picture threads from previous years and you will see. Just a bunch of regular guys (and gals) from all over country, well actually from all over the world just doing what we do. Leaning under the hood and over the bed of old trucks, telling lies and jokes and just livin life man. I wouldn't miss it for the world
Welcome to the club Grant. Good to have another member in the area too. Very nice looking truck.
Like Kid said, I live in Woodstock, and plan on going to SS this year. I haven't made my reservations yet, but hope to drive out Thursday. It's a great time, and you'll be sorry if you miss it. You can get married any year, but SS only happens every other year .

i could no longer keep "r.i.p.ing" all of our fallen brothers and sisters, so i say here, slick loads of love and much respect to all you beautiful people.
I live closer to the Iowa border in Illinois, I assume you all will be bringing I-80 or the tollway across? If thats the case Id love to meet up somewhere along the way and roll with you guys. Really looking forward to picking some brains on these old girls!!
Id rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy!
What day are you heading over? From your place you could head to Galesburg and take Hwy 34/63/163 to Des Moines. Most of it is new 4 lane. I'm only 17 miles south of Ottumwa, IA at the intersection of Hwy 2 and Hwy 63. I'm going up on Sunday, again on Tuesday and again on Thursday to stay until Sunday. Drop me a line if you get over this way.
