I have beenworking real hard onsome photoshop work.

I used to do a lot of photo editing on a program called Microsoft PictureIt, Now I am slowly trying to learn Adobe photoshop, there are so many options its is frightening. I have finally figured out where the air brush tools are, and how to use the spot bandage tool. I would love to learn how to run the whole program..
This is a old picture of my Dad on his Indian Warrior 250. The picture was only 2 by 3 inches big. I had it scanned (my scanners broke) I spent a LOT of hours workin on it the last few days but I am pretty happy with the results...



There is a mistake that is on the top edge of the finished photo that is just a mistake I made when I put this comparison picture together.. its not on the FIXED image..

That looks great. We're getting ready to scan and upload all my dad's old picture slides. Have probably close to a thousand to do then put them on a disc for my mom and sister. Gotta save the old pictures!

Well to be honest I have been doing this with junk software for many years, I am finally TRYING to use Adobes (Cadillac quality) software.. I have a really old version.. But even that is a giant improvement on what I used before. If you have never opened this software up before and messed around with it... you would be shocked at what it can do. Programs like this have virtually made photographic PROOF meaningless.. it is that good with an expert running it.

No that Indian was gone long before I was born, I have been reading up on that model of Indian, the Warrior. It sounds like that bike was the final anchor around the companies neck...

Believe this or not my Gramps had a old Harley, and it was he and my Grandmas only transport for a couple years . I might have a pic somewhere?

Looks good from here, nice work! I have a good idea of how long that would take, lol. I started on Photoshop CS3, then upgraded to CS5 and the improvement in the behaviour of the healing tools was incredible. Still, the older versions are quite capable.

Hold on to those slides though! Film is much more durable as an archival medium than digital could ever be.

I think I have cs2 or 3.

I will definitely keep the originals.. I love good old pics even if I don't know the people in them..

Cool, I was quite content with CS3 but made the switch after moving to a Mac. There are still a lot of functions I don't use, even after taking courses in it and using it for several years. The clone stamp and patch tool would be good ones to investigate next. Lots of tutorials all over the web.

The capabilities of this program make it really easy to get carried away with smoothing and correcting, but you've done a good job of repairing the damage while still retaining the original character of the image. Well done.
